At Chipping Sodbury School, we pride ourselves on running a very
stable, well designed system. We believe this provides excellent ICT provision
for both students and staff for teaching and learning effectively. The school
has 24 hour systems monitoring and maintenance, and is running a variety of the
latest software.

All students and staff who come to the school are given a
username and password giving them access to a wealth of information both online
and in school. Students have the opportunity to upload and download files,
access moderated email and access software over the Internet from a home
machine. The IT Support department is happy to help with any queries or problems
that students may encounter, whether it is anything from a small piece of
coursework or using our advanced CAD / CAM machining tools.
The department has good links with other schools in the area,
and helps out with problems other schools encounter. The school has an extensive
list of software, however we have listed some of the larger packages and
summaries below:

Microsoft Windows XP Professional as standard on all new PC's

bought before release of Windows XP

And much more. We also have a range of specialist software
within our Design Technology Departments, Modern Foreign Languages Department,
and Expressive Arts departments.
