An outstanding season for results
and achievements - especially the Year 7 football team.
Congratulations to all the girls who have represented the school.
 Under 12 Football Team 3rd in the Country!
Well done to the Year 7 girls who finished in third place at
the national finals of the Under 12 5-a-side Indoor Competition
organised by the English Schools Football Association.
Over 2000 secondary schools entered the 5-a-side football
tournaments back in October, starting at local levels. Chipping
Sodbury School won the Bristol and South Glos Schools tournament,
the Regional South West Finals and now have become the third best
team in the country. The event took place at the JJB Soccerdome,
Pride Park, Derby. This was a fantastic achievement for the girls and the school.
Sportsmark Award
Congratulations to the PE Faculty which has received the
Sportsmark 2007/2008. The award is in recognition of exceptional
delivery of the National School Sport Strategy.

7 Team Winners - SW Indoor 5-a-Side Football Tournament
Congratulations to the Year 7 girls' team that proudly
represented the school on 9 February at the English
School's Football Association Indoor 5-a-side area finals in
Devon. The win was a fantastic achievement by the team
and some outstanding football was played. The girls now
travel to Derby on 10 March to play in the National Finals. The
results were:-

 U13 Girls Football in County Final
Well done to the U13 girls football squad which came
runners up in the County Final on 25 January. The girls
had a great game against Ribston Hall but unfortunately lost
3-5. However, the team will still go through into the Regional
Competition.
Avon Cross Country Championships
A Year 11 student represented South Gloucestershire in the
Avon Cross Country Championships on 12 January. In poor
conditions he came 9th in the Intermediate Boys race.
Congratulations to this student for an amazing effort.
Year 7 Girls 5-a-side Football Winners
The Year 7 squad have won the Bristol and South Glos Schools
5-a-side Football competition. They played the Grange School and
Redland Green for a place in the regional finals in Torbay on
Sunday 27th January 2008.
